How To Start A Blog To Help Your Medical Practice Grow

Blog

If you are opening your own medical practice, you need to attract people to it. One way to do this is by starting your own blog. You can use the blog to get the word out about your practice, as well as provide your followers with helpful information, such as medical tips.

Blogging Platform

Choosing a blogging platform is your first step in starting your own blog. When making your decision, make sure the platform offers the following:

  • A variety of free themes and layouts
  • Capability of easily adding images to your blog
  • User-friendly blog posting system
  • Option of customizing menus
  • Capacity to be shared and commented on by viewers

If you have never used a blogging platform before, the one that you choose should come with lessons and other helpful tips to help guide you through the startup process.

Free or Hosted

You have the option to choose a free blog, or you can choose one that is hosted. If you choose free, your blog will be on a sub-domain. For example, if you have the domain doctor.com, on a sub domain your web address would be something like www.doctor.bloggingplatform.com, instead of www.doctor.com.

Although getting a blog for free is convenient, because you are not able to get your own domain name, it can be harder for people to remember its name. In addition, the blogging platform can place any ads they want on your blog at any time.

If you choose hosted, you have complete control over your blog. You can put your own ads on it, and can use themes other than what they offer to you. It typically only costs a few dollars per month to host a blog.

Information on the Blog

Because you are starting a new medical practice, you can write blog posts giving your readers some medical tips, such as how to treat a sprained ankle, how to treat a cut, etc. You should also write posts describing your medical practice, your office hours, your phone number, insurance you will take, etc.

When writing your posts, write them in a way that everyone can understand what they are reading. You should also post regularly.  Include links to some of your favorite websites on your blog, especially if you think your readers will find these websites helpful. You can also put a button that lets your readers follow your blog. Each time you put up a new post, they will receive an email.

Once your blog is finished, you have to work at getting it traffic. To do this, post the link to your blog on social media sites, in forums, and leave comments on other blogs in the same niche along with your blog's website address for your blog.

Understanding Online Marketing

When I started my own company, I realized that I needed to take our web presence seriously. However, after signing up for a website and going through all of the steps, I could tell that nobody was stumbling across our blog. I needed a way to boost traffic to the space, which is why I started working with an online marketing company. They were incredible to work with, really nice, and took care of all of my online marketing needs. Within about three weeks, our blog started getting much, much more traffic. Check out this website for more information about online marketing and which companies can help you.
